Articles
of Faith
We
Believe the Holy Bible, as originally written, was
verbally inspired and product of Spirit-controlledmen,
and therefore, has truth without any admixture of
error for its matter. We believe the Bible to be the
truecenter of Christian union and the supreme
standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and
opinions shall betried. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II
Peter 1:19-21)
Trinity
of The Godhead
We
believe that there is only one living and true God,
infinite in every excellence; that in the unity of
the Godhead there are three personal distinctions -
the Father, the Son, and the holy Spirit - Yet one
in substance and equal in every divine perfection
(Exodus 20:2,3: I Corinthians 8:6; I John 5:7)
We
believe in the absolute Deity of the Son, the Lord
Jesus Christ; that he was divine as no other man can
be, being the very God of the very God, existing
from all eternity, co-equal with the Father and the
Spirit; that he never ceased to be God for one
instant and that his humiliation did not consist in
laying aside his deity ; that as man He was
miraculously begotten of the Holy Ghost and born of
the Virgin Mary. (John 1:1,2; I John 5:20; Matthew
1:20; Luke 1:26-38
We
Believe That the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person,
equal with the Father and Son and of the same
substance and nature; that He convicts of sin,
righteousness and judgment, bears witness to the
truth, is the Agent of the New Birth and that He
seals, endues, guides, teachers, witnesses to,
sanctifies and helps the believer, indwelling every
true Child of God. (II Corinthians 13:14; John
14:16,17; Romans 8:14-27
Personality
of Satan
We
Believe in the distinct personality of Satan, that
he is the unholy god of this age, author of all
powers of darkness and sin, and is destined to the
judgment of an eternal justice in the lake of fire.
(Matthew 4:1-3; II Corinthians 4:4 Revelation 20:10)
Genesis
Account of Creation
We
believe that God created the heavens and the earth,
including all life, "each after its own
kind," by direct act, and not by the process of
evolution. (Genesis 1,2; Colossians 1:16,17; John
1:3)
Original
Sin
We
believe that man was created in innocence under the
law of his Maker, but by voluntary transgression
fell from his sinless and happy state in consequence
of which all mankind are now sinners, not only by
constraint, but by choice; and therefore under just
condemnation without defense or excuse
(Genesis
3:1-6; Romans 5:10-19; Romans 1:13; Romans 1:32)
Blood
Atonement
We
Believe that the great gospel blessing which Christ
secures to such as believes in Him is Justification.
1.
That justification includes the pardon of sin, and
the gift of eternal life, on principles of
Righteousness.
2.
That it is bestowed not in consideration of any
works of righteousness which we have done, but
solely through faith in the Redeemer's blood, His
Righteousness is imputed to us.
(Acts
13:39; Isaiah 53:11, Zechariah 13:1; Romans 8:1;
Romans 5:1-9)
New
Birth - Justification by Faith - Security of
Believer
We
believe that faith in the finished work of the Lord
Jesus Christ is the only condition of salvation from
sin and this salvation is wholly by grace; that no
works, however good make that salvation more secure.
(Acts
16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 10:9
We
Believe that all who take Christ as their Savior are
born from above instantaneously and are eternally
secure in Christ. (John 10-25,29; Romans 8:35-39;
Philippians 1:6)
Divine
Institution of Marriage and the Home
We
Believe that the home was the first institution God
provided for man. (Genesis 2:18-24)
1.
That marriage is a sacred relationship and honorable
for all (Hebrews 13:4; I Corinthians 7:2) Marriage
is used as a emblem for the union of Christ and his
Church. (Ephesians 5:21-23)
What
God hath joined together let no man put asunder.
(Mark 10:9)
2.
We believe that mixed marriages of believers and
unbelievers are forbidden in scripture. (II
Corinthians 6:14; 7:1) In the case of a mixed
marriage the believer should not leave the
unbeliever. (I Corinthians 7:12) But the believer
does not have to deny his Lord to avoid a broken
home if the unbeliever wants to leave the believer.
(I Corinthians 7:14) It is of course, better when
the unbeliever chooses to remain with the believer
for the children's sake, and it is always possible
the unbeliever who will be saved through the
testimony of the believer.
(I
Corinthians 7:13-16; I Peter 3:1-7)
Divine
Appointment of Civil Government
We
Believe that civil Government is of divine
appointment for the interests and good order of
human society; that magistrates are to be prayed
for, and conscientiously honored and obeyed; except
in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who is the only Lord of the conscience and
the coming Prince of the Kings of the earth.
(Romans
13:1-7; II Samuel 23:3; Exodus 18:21,22; Acts 23:5;
4:19.2; 5:20; Mathew 22:21;
Daniel
3:17,18)
Local
Church Autonomy
We
Believe that a local church is a congregation of
immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith
and and fellowship of the Gospel; observing the
ordinances of Christ; governed by his laws; and
exercising the gifts, right and privileges invested
in them by his Word. We believe the the true mission
of the church is the faithful witnessing of Christ
to all men as we have opportunity. We hold hold that
the local church has the absolute right of
self-government, free from all the interference of
the hierarchy of individuals or organizations, and
that the one and only superintendent is Christ
through the Holy Spirit; that is scriptural for true
churches to cooperate with each other in contending
for the faith and for the furtherance of the gospel;
that each local church is the sole judge of the
measure and method of cooperation on all matters of
membership, of policy of government, of discipline
of benevolence, and the will of the local church is
final. (Acts 2:41,42; I Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians
1:22,23; 4:11;
Acts
20:27,28; Colossians 1:18; I Timothy 3:1-15
Ephesians 5:22,23; Acts 15:13-18)
Baptism
by Immersion and Lords Supper
We
Believe That Christian Baptism is the immersion of a
believer in water to show the forth as solemn and
beautiful emblem our faith in the crucified, buried,
and risen savior, with its effect in our death to
sin and resurrection to a new life; that is a
prerequisite to the privileges of church membership.
We believe that the Lord's supper is the
commemoration of His death until he comes, and
should be preceded always by solemn
self-examination. (Acts 8:2-12 I Corinthians
11:23-28
Resurrection
of the Body
We
Believe in the resurrection of the bodies of the
dead; that believers who sleep in Jesus will be
raises at the coming of Christ for his Church and
caught up with transformed living saints to meet the
Lord in the air, all reigning with Christ in
Heaven-Eternal glory, and the wicked shall be raised
at the close of the Millennial kingdom and stand in
their bodies at the Great White Throne of Judgment
to receive their sentence to eternal torment of
Hell. (John 5:21-30; I Thessalonians 4:16;
Revelation 7:9-17; 20:11-15)
Premillennial
Return of Christ
and
Millennial
Reign of Christ
We
Believe in the bodily, personal, premillennial
return of Jesus Christ to earth; that he will come
before the seven year tribulation period to catch
away His church, coming only into the air, and that
he will come with His church at the close of the
tribulation to judge the living nations and to set
up His kingdom on earth. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18;
Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 19:11-21)
